AIS

Feeder node that listens to AIS messages from vessels in the New York Harbor area, and passes them on to aprs.fi.

Hardware

The node is a Raspberry Pi with a Daisy2 receiver listening through a 2.5 dBi HYS VHF marine antenna. (It’s actually the same Pi as the ADS-B node.)

The antenna is outdoor rated, but the node is entirely indoors for the time being. It has decent enough range where it is. I intend to figure out an enclosure and power delivery and get the antennas higher up.
